SCS Walk to Remember Hazel Pool
As the pictures show, Derbyshire in late September is a beautiful place. Tony & Liz Morton, Belinda Stone, Jack Ferguson, Peter Stone, Stewart & Joyce Ryan, Julia Barton, Simon Tanner, Steve Barton, Terry Pool, Kate Barton, Sue Hurst, Annabel Atkinson, Matt Roberts and Mick Cooper lined up on the Monsal Viaduct so that Dennis could take the picture to prove we made it at least half way!
The view overlooking Wyedale is perfect.
The walk took us from Hassop Station along the old railway that is now the Monsal Trail and then back across stiles fields to the start. The going was firm, there were no fallers and everyone finished, though some needed extra motivation at the Monsal Head Hotel. A great day out, good to catch up with the many regular participants who enjoyed Hazel & Terry’s many SCS walks in the 1990s.
It was a great way to remember Hazel, who we suspect provided the good weather! We will do this again next year. Join us next time!
