Philip Kingsley Dies at 86

Philip Kingsley, trichologist, leading international authority on hair health and the man credited with coining the phrase ‘bad hair day’ has sadly died at the age of 86. He qualified as a trichologist in 1953 and has been behind some of the world’s most successful hair treatments (with clinics in London and New York) and hair care products (Elasticizer is the hero product). He had an acute understanding of the psychological importance of people’s hair and numbered many celebrities among his client list. He was a past Chairman of the Institute of Trichologists and subsequently was made a Fellow Member, the organisation’s highest honour.

Philip Kingsley was a member of the SCS from 1987.
