Peter Gouge (Technical Manager, Lake Chemicals)

This lecture will cover one of the fastest growing trends in the UK supplement industry. The concept of ‘Beauty from within’ has increased in awareness and acceptance within beauty conscious UK consumers and many high street retailers and brand owners are taking advantage of this growth and launching products. This presentation will cover the main nutraceuticals being incorporated into such products and how they can complement topical beauty treatments.

Coping with your R&D Challenges in Formulation and Characterisation of Beauty Care Products’

Dr Teodora Doneva (Chemspeed Technologies)

Today's Beauty Care Market demands Safe and Elegant Cosmetics. The intrinsic difficulties associated to Beauty Care formulations (process complexity, reproducibility, time consumption) are increased by consumers’ expectations and tough regulations. Those difficulties highlight the necessity of new product formulation and reformulation of existing products revealing a clear need for High-Throughput and High-Output formulation approach. Chemspeed fully automated and unattended formulation & quality control workstations in conjunction with overhead gravimetric dispensing of virtually every ingredient (Dispense WHILE processing) allow for faster and better sustainable investigation of both the raw material and the process space, i.e. easy screening of new ‘green’ components (High-Throughput) and shifting form “know-how” to “know-why” (High-Output). By using selected examples from Beauty Care products, this seminar will show how various challenging workflows have been successfully automated and how Chemspeed Automation will boost your Formulation, Characterization & Quality Control capabilities.
