The 2026 AGM was a major milestone for the Society as we unveiled our new brand identity and refreshed look and feel. To step into the role of SCS President for 2026–2027 at such an exciting time is a real honour.

These changes are about much more than appearance. They reflect one of the greatest strengths of our industry: our ability to evolve, innovate and embrace the future. They also represent the diversity of people, experiences and expertise that make our Society and industry so successful.

This year, I will continue working closely with the Executive Committee, Council and Steering Groups as we finalise our long-term strategy. This review is essential to ensure that everything we do remains aligned with our mission to Inform, Inspire and Connect.

We saw that mission come to life perfectly at the SCS Annual Conference, the final event of our scientific programme and my first as President. It was an inspiring couple of days, bringing together everyone from students and early-career scientists to leading industry experts, all united by a shared passion for cosmetic science.

Our industry is evolving rapidly, but what has always made the SCS special is its people. Over the next year, I want to make sure we continue creating opportunities for those connections to happen, whether you are a student just starting out, a formulator in the lab, or a leader with decades of experience in our industry.

One thing that is particularly important to me is ensuring that our Society reflects the rich diversity of our profession. Different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives strengthen our community, and I believe everyone should feel welcomed, valued and represented within the SCS. Our Society should be a place where every member can participate, contribute and thrive.

I am genuinely excited for the year ahead and look forward to meeting more of you, listening to your experiences and ideas, and helping shape a Society that continues to support and represent all our members.
