How to Join the Society

To apply for membership of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists all you need to do is to complete the online application form which requires sponsorship by one referee who must be a current full member of the Society/member of a Society affiliated to the IFSCC OR a professional contact of the applicant. When completing your application PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU INSERT YOUR EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT DETAILS OTHERWISE YOUR APPLICATION MAY BE DELAYED.

Options for payment of your annual membership will be provided when you apply. 

Due to the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) rules which take effect in May 2018, the onus will be upon the applicant to obtain a reference for a new membership application and we cannot proceed with the application until this is received.

New Fellowship Application Form : The application form for Fellow Grade will require to be printed out and completed manually and then either scanned and emailed to mel.cheekoory@scs.org.uk or posted to the SCS Secretariat address in Luton.

All Membership Application forms MUST be accompanied with an appropriate subscription payment, for example, cheque, credit card instruction, Stripe payment (similar to PayPal), BACS payment. Failure to complete payment instructions to your application will mean a delay in your application form being processed and will only be presented to SCS Council once an acceptable accompanying subscription fee is received.

All membership application forms are reviewed by the SCS Membership Committee consisting of 5 full members of the Society, followed by approval by the SCS Council at the next Council meeting.  Qualifications and industry experience are checked intermittently to ensure compliance with Society grading criteria.  However if it transpires that any information on a membership application form is incorrect, the Society is within its rights to cancel the membership.
